Adult Cosplay Contest

Saturday, August 31st @ 4 pm (prejudging at 3:30 pm)

Ages 19 & up

Register in advance or at the event

 

Round 1 – Registration: Until start of Prejudging.
Round 2 – Prejudging: Begins 3:30 pm.
Round 3 – Live Stage Show: Begins 4 pm. You have 60 seconds to own the stage!

The Geek-End Market Adult Cosplay Contest is your chance to show off your sewing and fabricating skills, or your love for your favourite anime character! Registration is completely free.

 

  • The YukomiCon Presents: Geek-End Market Adult Cosplay Contest participation is restricted to contestants who complete the registration form on a first come, first served basis. Registration forms may be submitted by email to info@yukomicon.com or to Titan Gaming & Collectibles, 3121 3rd Avenue, Whitehorse, YT Y1A 1E6 until Friday, August 30th. Registration forms will also be available and accepted at the Geek-End Market Help Desk until the start of prejudging if space is still available.

  • Contestants may only enter in one category, Individual or Group. Due to the unpredictable size of groups, a prize for each member cannot be guaranteed.

​

  • Contestants must be in full costume at time of prejudging. Costumes must comply with the Cosplay Policy.

​

  • YukomiCon Presents: Geek-End Market reserves the right to disallow any contestants on the basis of appropriateness of costume. Please remember that YukomiCon Presents: Geek-End Market is a family-friendly event. Event staff have the final say on all entries.

​

  • Any prop weapons must comply with the Weapons Policy and must be checked and tagged at the Weapons Check Desk prior to prejudging.

​

  • Judging categories and prizes for the Adult Cosplay Contest are as follows:

    • Best in Show

    • Craftsmanship Award (80%+ of costume handmade)

    • Best Group Costume

    • Best Stage Presence

    • Judge’s Choice

 

The Cosplay Contest Director and all official representatives of YukomiCon Presents: Geek-End Market have full authority to eliminate any contestant from the competition on the grounds of unsportsmanlike conduct witnessed backstage, violation of the rules, or any other reason deemed sufficient. There is no appeal. Arguing with the Director or representative may result in further action taken, such as a lifetime ban on participating in any future YukomiCon-branded cosplay contests.

 

Contestants are expected to obey all local, territorial, and federal laws and bylaws governing event and venue location. Those who do not comply will be removed from the premises. If the nature of the infraction is severe, the proper authorities will be contacted.

Youth and Family Cosplay Contest

Saturday, August 31st @ 1:30 pm (pre-gathering at 1:15 pm)

Ages 18 & under and Family (all ages)

Register at event

Pre-gathering: Begins at 1:15 pm.
Live Stage Show: Begins at 1:30 pm.

The YukomiCon presents: Geek-End Market Youth and Family Cosplay Contest consists of a live show catwalk to show off your costumes.

 

  • The YukomiCon Presents: Geek-End Market Youth and Family Cosplay Contest participation is restricted to contestants who complete the registration form on a first come, first served basis. Registration forms will be available and accepted at the YukomiCon Presents: Geek-End Market Help Desk until the start of pre-gathering.
